The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them.     • Shippensburg (W) – 18-17
    • Findlay (L) – 24-21
    • Indianapolis (L) – 32-12
  • The Cobras picked up wins against three regionally ranked opponents last week; No. 15 Belmont Abbey (28-15), No. 11 Tiffin (34-15) and No. 7 Shippensburg (18-17). This week they will travel to Anderson University to take on the regionally ranked No. 13 Trojans.

Women’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:

    • Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – Lincoln Memorial
  • Last week’s games:
    • Newberry (W) – 83-72
    • Tusculum (L) – 80-75
  • Last week the Cobra women went completing a season sweep of Newberry thanks to an 83-72 win over the Wolves. This week they will hit the road for a two-game road trip starting on Wednesday at Wingate and concluding on Saturday at Lincoln Memorial.

Men’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:
    • Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. – (A) – Wingate
    • Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (A) – Lincoln Memorial
  • Last week’s games:
    • Newberry (L) – 95-92
    • Tusculum (W) – 91-78
  • The Cobras went 1-1 last week with an impressive 91-78 win over Tusculum. The men tied a single game record for made 3-pointers going 16-for-29 against the Pioneers. Senior Julian Nelson also scored a season high 31 points in the game. This week they will travel to Wingate and Lincoln Memorial.

Men’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:
    • Thursday at 6:00 p.m. (H) – Limestone
    • Friday at 5:00 p.m. (A) – McKendree – Lindenwood Univ. Tournament
    • Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (A) – Quincy – Lindenwood Univ. Tournament

  • Last week’s matches:
    • Eastern Mennonite – 3-2 (L), 3-1 (W)
  • The Cobra men’s volleyball will play host to the Limestone Saints in their 2014 home opener on Thursday night. They will then head north to Missouri to take part in the Lindenwood University Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Baseball

    • Sunday at 12:00 (H) – Chowan
  • Last week’s games:

  • The defending NCAA DII Southeast Region Champion baseball team will take the field to start the 2014 season this weekend. The Cobras will host Chowan in a three-game series starting with a double-header on Saturday and concluding with a single game on Sunday.
