Women’s Basketball
- This week’s games:
- Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. (A)- St. Andrews
- Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (H)- Converse
- Last week’s games:
- Barton– 79-66 (W)
- Belmont Abbey- 81-61 (W)
- The Cobra women were perfect last week with a pair of decisive
victories over two tough Conference Carolinas opponents, Barton and
Belmont Abbey. This week, Coach Finora and the Cobras will take on
St. Andrews University and Converse College in two of their final
four regular season games. Currently, the women are third place in
the East Division. Only the top three teams from the East will
advance to the conference tournament.
Men’s Basketball
- This week’s games:
- Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. (A)- St. Andrews
- Last week’s games:
- Barton– 85-69 (W)
- Belmont Abbey- 81-62 (W)
- The Cobra men continued their winning ways this week with
another two Conference Carolinas victories, extending their winning
streak to three. This week the Cobras will face just one opponent,
St. Andrews University on Valentine’s Day. Currently, the
Cobra men are in fifth place in the East Division, a game behind
Pfeiffer with just three games left in the regular season. The top
four teams from each division advance to the conference
tournament.
Baseball
- This week’s games:
- Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. (H)- UNC Pembroke
- Friday at 2:30 p.m. (A)- Belmont Abbey
- Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (A)- Belmont Abbey (DH)
- Last week’s games:
- Paine- 6-5 (W)
- Anderson- 11-2 (L), 4-3 (W), 8-7 (W)
- It was a good week for the Cobra baseball team last week as
they went 3-1, including taking two of three from Anderson in their
weekend series. This week they will play the last of a 10 game home
stand on Wednesday against UNC Pembroke and then Conference
Carolinas play begins Friday and Saturday on the road at Belmont
Abbey.
Softball
- This week’s games:
- Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (A)- Columbia (DH)
- Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (A)- Anderson (DH)
- Sunday at 12:00 p.m. (A)- Francis Marion (DH)
- Last week’s games:
- Mars Hill- 8-4 (L), 9-0 (W)- 5 innings
- Wingate- 5-4 (L), 13-11 (W)
- Newberry- 15-7 (W), 9-7 (L)
- The Coker softball team opened their 2012 season last week by
going 3-3, splitting all three series they played. In the process
head coach David Hanna did earn his 700th career
victory. With a 9-0 win over Mars Hill on opening day, Hanna joined
the 700 win club. This week the Cobras will hit the road traveling
to Columbia College on Valentine’s Day, Anderson University
on Saturday and Francis Marion University on Sunday.
Lacrosse
- This week’s games:
- Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. (H)- Catawba
- Friday at 6:00 p.m. (H)- Pfeiffer
- Sunday at 12:00 p.m. (H)- Tampa
- The Coker lacrosse team did not disappoint the more than 500
people that saw the long awaited inaugural Coker lacrosse game last
week, as the Cobras defeated Shorter 14-7. This week they will play
host to a trio of games, including two nationally ranked opponents,
No. 12 Catawba and No. 10 Pfeiffer.
Men’s & Women’s Tennis
- This week’s matches:
- Thursday at 3:00 p.m. (A)- UNC Pembroke- Women Only
- Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (A)- Johnson C. Smith- Men Only
- Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – Francis Marion
- Last week’s matches:
- North Greenville- Women- 6-3 (W) Men- 5-4 (W)
- North Georgia- Women- 5-4 (L) Men- 6-3 (L)

- USC-Aiken- Women- 7-2 (L) Men- 8-1 (L)
- The Coker tennis teams got their season’s off to a
smashing start last week as both teams captured, not only their
first victories of the season against North Greenville, but also
the first collegiate victories for head coach Tom Simpson. After
four matches last week, the Cobras will slow things down with just
two matches for each team this week. The women will play UNC
Pembroke and Francis Marion, while the men will take on Johnson C.
Smith and Francis Marion.
