Cobra Spotlight

The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. This week we take a look at Ryan Vento, a member of the men’s lacrosse team. Read more… 

Men’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:
    • Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Pfeiffer
    • Friday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Erskine
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Cairn (L) – 3-2
    • Erskine (L) – 3-0
  • The men’s volleyball team will hit the road for a pair of Conference Carolinas road matches this week. The first will be on Wednesday against Pfeiffer, followed by a trip to Erskine on Friday.


  • This week’s games:
    • Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. (H) – West Georgia
    • Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. (H) – West Georgia
    • Friday at 6:00 p.m. (A) – Mount Olive
    • Saturday at 12 p.m. (A) – Mount Olive (DH)
  • Last week’s games:
    • King – (W) 5-4, (W) 4-1, (L) 7-5
  • The baseball team took two of three from Pfeiffer last week and moved into second place in the conference standings. This week they will host West Georgia in a pair of non-conference games and then travel to Mount Olive College for a battle for conference supremacy this week. Currently, Mount Olive is ahead of Coker by one game in the league standings.

  • Last week the softball team had a busy week with 10 games. This week they will play just eight games; six at home. The Cobras will host Millersville and Edinboro in a pair of non-conference double-headers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then they will host Columbia on Sunday in another non-conference double-header.  

Men’s and Women’s Tennis

  • This week’s matches:
    • Thursday at 2:30 p.m. (H) – UNC Pembroke (W)
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Mount Olive
    • Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (A) – Limestone
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Presbyterian – (L) 6-1 – men  
    • Converse – (W) 5-4 – women
    • Queens – (L) 9-0 – women, (W) 7-2 - men
  • Last week the Coker men’s tennis team stretched its Conference Carolinas winning streak to five matches last week with a 7-2 win over Queens, while the women picked up an impressive 5-4 win against Converse. This week the Cobra tennis teams will host Mount Olive in a conference match on Saturday, before hitting the road to Limestone on Sunday.

Men’s Lacrosse

    • Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Mount Olive
    • Pfeiffer at 3:00 p.m. (A) – Pfeiffer
  • Last week’s games:
    • Belmont Abbey (L) – 12-9
    • Wingate (W) – 18-15
  • The men’s lacrosse team picked up a huge win over Wingate last week, 18-15. This week the Cobras will play two Conference Carolinas games on the road. The first at Mount Olive on Wednesday, followed by a game at Pfeiffer on Saturday.

Women’s Golf

  • This week’s tournaments:
    • Pinehurst Challenge hosted by Wingate – March 18 – 19 at The National Golf Club
  • Last week’s tournaments:
    • None
  • The women’s golf team hits this links this week at the Pinehurst Challenge hosted by Wingate University at The National Golf Club. This is the first tournament for the women since their 12th place finish at the Pirate Invitational on March 4-5.
