Dr. Lynn Griffin has served as Coker's Director of Athletics since 2010 and in 2012 was promoted to Vice President of Athletics and Facilities. During her time at Coker, the Cobras have grown and succeeded in several areas of athletics. She has been a driving force behind the addition of four new sports: men's lacrosse (2011-12), men's volleyball (2012-13), wrestling (2013-14) and women's lacrosse (2013-14). Under her leadership, Coker will make the transition to a new conference, the South Atlantic Conference, beginning July 1, 2013.  In 2011-12, the Cobras won Conference Carolina's championships in men's soccer and men's golf. The Cobras hosted their first ever NCAA regional in men's soccer in 2011.

In 2010, Griffin received the Indiana Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (IAHPERD) Pathfinder Award. Given to just one female member of Indiana AHPERD each year, the Pathfinder Award was established to honor members of Indiana AHPERD who have and/or continue to advocate, recruit and enhance opportunities for girls and women in sport and sport leadership.  In addition, she was awarded the Indiana Pathfinder award by the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport. 

Griffin came to Coker after spending seven years at the University of Indianapolis as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics where she oversaw 12 of the institutions 21 athletics programs. In 2008, the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) named her NCAA Division II Administrator of the Year.

Griffin is a member of the NCAA Division II Nominating Committee and has also served on two NCAA championship committees (women’s basketball and swimming and diving). She is an active member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and NACWAA. Griffin serves as an instructor in Coker's newly formed Masters of Science in College Athletic Administration program.

Prior to her time at the University of Indianapolis, Griffin was the Associate Director of Athletics, Compliance Coordinator, Senior Woman Administrator, Head Women's Basketball Coach, and Sport Studies Instructor at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, N.C. Before St. Andrews, Griffin was the head women’s basketball coach and physical education instructor at the University of South Dakota. Prior to USD, she was an assistant woman’s basketball coach and Physical Education instructor at UNC-Asheville.  She began her career at Tarleton State University where she was the assistant women's basketball coach. While at Tarleton, the women’s basketball team advanced to the NAIA National Championship game in Salem, OR.

Griffin received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she was a two-sport athlete, women’s basketball and softball.  At Tarleton she earned a master's degree in exercise and sports studies. She earned her doctorate in education in sport management from Northcentral University in 2011.
