Snow and Smith Lead LMU Past Wingate
Lincoln Memorial eliminated Wingate with a 2-1 victory.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Amanda Snow and Samantha Smith led the No. 7 seed Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters to a 2-1 win over the No. 4 seed Wingate Bulldogs in an elimination game on Friday (Apr. 24) at the 2015 South Atlantic Softball Championship.
Snow drove in both of the Railsplitters runs, while Smith (12-12) pitched a gem allowin just one run on five hits with three strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Stacey Houser (18-15) suffered the loss for the Bulldogs. She allowed two runs on four hits with a strikeout in three innings in the circle.
Snow finished the game going a perfect 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. Kelly Dreier and Savannah Couch had a hit each as well for LMU.
Katie McLaurin drove in the lone Bulldog run on a solo homer, while Mellena Helms, Taylor Laskey, Alexis Burrell and Misty Doran each had a hit.
Lincoln Memorial moves on to play the No. 2 seed Anderson on Saturday (Apr. 25) at 10 a.m. Wingate’s season comes to an end with the loss. The Bulldogs finish the season with a record of 27-20.
