After the Cobras cut the margin to 7-4 on a two run home run by Ben Davidson (Mount Pleasant, S.C.), Lenoir-Rhyne responded with five runs in the bottom of the sixth including Verdinek's two-run single that put the game out of reach.
Verdinek finished with a pair of hits and two runs batted and sophomore first baseman Jordan Ackley (Walnut Cove, N.C./South Stokes HS) went three-for-three with two RBI to lead Lenoir-Rhyne's 15-hit attack.
