Asheboro, NC- Coker College’s rising junior pitcher, Brad Boob, earned his second win of the summer for the Asheboro Copperheads of the Coastal Plains League on Wednesday, with a 5-4 victory over the Petersburg Generals.

Boob (2-3) came on in relief for the Copperheads and threw one inning, allowing just one hit and striking out one as well. Asheboro scored four runs in the last three innings to earn the win.

Wednesday’s game would have pitted Boob versus a fellow Cobra, Brian Nally, but unfortunately Nally’s summer had to be cut short due to a knee injury.

The Copperhead’s are currently in third place in the West Division with a 16-18 record. Their next game is Thursday as they travel to face the Gastonia Grizzles.
