Wilson, NC- Ben Davidson’s two home runs and four RBIs led the Cobras to their first CVAC series victory of the year, as Coker defeated Barton College 10-7 on Sunday afternoon. With the win Coker took the series 2-1, improving their overall record to 4-9 on the season and 2-1 in the CVAC.

 

Matt Conyers (1-1) earned the win, coming on in relief, throwing four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and no runs.

 

Davidson was 4-for-4 on the day with two home runs, a double, four RBIs and four runs scored. On the weekend Davidson finished 8-for-11 with four home runs and seven RBIs. Also collecting multiple hits in Sunday’s game were Julio Gomez and Eric Losten, each 2-for-5 on the day, with Gomez hitting double with an RBI.

 

The Cobras return to the diamond on Wednesday, against UNC-Pembroke. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Tom J. New Field at Coker College.
