Pfeiffer burst onto the board in the third inning, scoring three runs on four hits. The Falcons added another run in the fifth when Justin Ridenhour laced triple into right center and was then brought home thanks to a single by Kyle Pugh. Pfeiffer tacked on two more runs in the sixth and then added their seven run in the seventh thanks to a lead-off solo home run from Shawn Coke, give the Falcons a 7-0 lead.
Coker finally got on board in the bottom of the seventh, thanks to an RBI single from Steve Evans. Unfortunately for Coker, Pfeiffer added their eighth run in the eighth inning.
Seth Weinberg (1-2) took the loss, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing six runs in 11 hits.
Jonathan McDaniel (2-1) earned the win allowing just one run, in nine innings of work, with eight strikeouts.
Leading the Coker offense was Evans, going a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Ryan Schaeffer was 2-for-4.
For Pfeiffer, Ridenhour was 4-for-5 with triple, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Pugh was also 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Coke finished 3-for-5 with a home run, an RBI and a run scored.
Coker returns to the diamond tomorrow as they travel to face
