Fort Myers, FL- Coker won their final game at the Gene Cusic Baseball Classic, defeating Stonehill College 5-3 on Wednesday morning. The Cobras are now 7-16 overall and finished the week with a record of 2-3.

 

Jayson Clarke (2-2) earned the win for Coker, throwing an inning of relief, for starter Chris Thomas, who threw six innings, allowing three runs on six hits. Brad Boob (1) earned his first save of the season tossing the final two innings, allowing one hit, with a strike out.

 

Leading the Cobra hitters were Eric Losten, Ty Medlin, Ryan Schaeffer, Julio Gomez and Ben Davidson. Losten, Medlin, Schaeffer and Gomez were each 2-for-4, while Losten had two RBIs and Medlin had one RBI. Schaeffer also scored two runs. Davidson was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the day.

 

Coker will return to Hartsville, to prepare for their three game CVAC series with Mount Olive College starting Saturday at noon.
