HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College baseball coach Dave Schmotzer announced today that Robert Skinner has been appointed assistant baseball coach.
"I've known Robert for a long time, and his experience both as a player and coach will help us immensely," said Schmotzer. "He's a go-getter and eager to get on the job. I really think he's going to be a force on our staff and help get us to where we want to go."
Skinner's responsibilities will include coaching hitting, working with the infielders and helping on the recruiting trail. He comes to Coker after serving as assistant baseball coach at Florence-Darlington Technical College in Darlington, S.C., where he was primarily responsible for coaching hitting and infielder instruction.
Originally from Hartsville, S.C., Skinner played baseball for Lander University. He earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science there in 2011.
