Cobras Looking to Clip the Falcons
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras will do battle with the Pfeiffer Falcons in a three-game Conference Carolinas baseball series on Friday (Mar. 15) and Saturday (Mar. 16). Live coverage of the series will be available on www.cokercobras.com.
Coker (14-7, 6-3 Conf. Carolinas) is coming off a 2-1 series win over King University a week ago. The Cobras defeated the Tornado 10-2 and 9-2; their only loss of the series was a one-run game, 6-5. The reigning conference player of the week, Fico Kondla, and pitcher of the week, Zach Loraine, lead the way for the Cobras. Kondla is batting .439 with 17 RBIs, six doubles and a home run, while Loraine leads the pitching staff with a 0.93 ERA, six saves and an average of 10.71 strikeouts per nine innings.
Pfeiffer (9-15, 5-2 Conf. Carolinas) swept Limestone in its most recent conference series. The Falcons suffered a 7-2 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne in their last game on Tuesday (Mar. 12). Jon Gray is the leading hitter for the Falcons with four home runs, 12 doubles, 10 RBIs and a .371 batting average.
Last season the Cobras took two of three from the Falcons, losing the opening game of the series, 7-4 and then winning the next two, 3-0 and 6-4.
First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and Saturday's double-header will begin at noon.
