Coker Moves to No. 6 in Southeast Region
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College baseball team moved up three spots to No. 6 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll. The squad had been ninth in the previous Southeast region poll. It marks the highest regional ranking all season.
The Cobras are led by junior Fico Kondla, who is hitting .431 on the season with a pair of home runs and 32 RBIs. He leads Conference Carolinas in batting average and is third in stolen bases with 20.
In addition to the NCBWA poll, the Cobras have been ranked nationally by College Baseball Lineup (29th) and regionally by d2baseball (10th) this season.
Coker defeated St. Andrews University on Tuesday, improving to 28-12 overall and 13-8 in Conference Carolinas. The Cobras conclude the regular season with a three-game conference set Friday and Saturday at Erskine College.
