Goot Named NCBWA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College's Andrew Goot has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association pitcher of the week for the Southeast region. This is Goot's second honor of the week, as he was named Conference Carolinas pitcher of the week on Tuesday.

Goot is a junior right-handed pitcher for the Cobras. The team went 4-1 last week, and Goot had a say in all four of the victories. He picked up three wins and a save, tossing seven innings over four appearances. As of Thursday, Goot is 8-0 with one save on the season. He has a 3.76 ERA with 51 strikeouts in 52 2-3 innings.

Goot is a history major at Coker. He is the son of Robert and Joanne Goot.

The Coker baseball team sits at 28-12 overall and 13-8 in conference action. It completes the regular season with a three-game series Friday and Saturday at Erskine College.
