HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head baseball coach Dave Schmotzer has announced the addition of Dallas Baldwin, Zack Bennett, Charlie Burguieres, Joey Carpenter, Bryson Conner and Nick Stotler to the 2014-15 recruiting class. These six will join the Cobras beginning in the fall of 2014.
"The young men we added to this class are very talented, and they are going to be very good for us as soon as we get them to campus," said Schmotzer. "All six bring character to our program and will be very instrumental assets to our team and its success."
Baldwin, a pitcher from Hillsborough, N.C., is a transfer from Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, N.C. Prior to RCC, Baldwin attended Williams High School, where he was a Mid-State 3A all-tournament team and Mid-State 3A all-conference selection in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
Bennett is a pitcher from Simpsonville, S.C., where he attends Woodmont High School. Currently a three-year letterwinner in baseball for the Wildcats, Bennett posted a 1.84 ERA as a junior.
Burguieres is a second baseman/shortstop from Greensboro, N.C. He attends North Guilford High School, where he is a four-year letterwinner in baseball.
Carpenter hails from Easley, S.C., and attends Wren High School. Carpenter, a pitcher, is a three-year letterwinner entering his senior season and was chosen to the 2014 Under Armour preseason All-American team.
Conner, a shortstop/second baseman, is from North Augusta, S.C., where he attends North Augusta High School. He is a four-year letterwinner in baseball for the Yellow Jackets.
Stotler is an infielder/outfielder from Pittsburgh, Pa., where he attends Plum Senior High School. He is a two-sport athlete in baseball and basketball for the Mustangs. As a baseball player, Stotler is a four-year letterwinner and starter, two-time Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League Section 3 Champion, two-year Pennsylvania state game medalist and first-team Valley News Dispatch selection.
