Hartsville, SC- Sumter native Abram Ludd led the Cobras to a 56-53 victory over his hometown team, Morris College, in collegiate basketball Monday night. Morris kept the game close all night, but in the end Coker came out victorious giving them their first victory of the season. Ludd, a junior, had a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds for Coker.

 

Senior guard Johnny Jackson/Hartsville, SC, had his third game with twenty or more points, as he chipped in 23 for the Cobras. Jackson was also four for eight from three point range on the night. Sophomore George Bounidas/Athens, Greece, finished with seven points and three rebounds as well for the Cobras.

 

Morris’ Joseph Hayward lead the way for the Hornets with 20 points and six rebounds, while Carlos Gore had 12 points and six rebounds as well.  

 

Coker moves to 1-2 overall, as they prepare for their first conference game of the year on Tuesday, November 29. The women will take on the Saints first at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m. in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium at Coker College.
