HARSTVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's basketball player Larry Felder has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Felder is the first basketball player to receive a SAC weekly award, and third Coker student-athlete to be named conference player of the week.
Felder, a guard/forward, came off the bench to lead the Cobras to a 2-0 start this past weekend. He busted out with 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block in an 89-85 win over Belmont Abbey College on Friday. Felder followed that performance with 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting, seven boards, three assists and a steal in a 75-73 victory over Limestone College the next day.
For the season, Felder is averaging 20.5 points, eight rebounds and three assists on 85-percent shooting. His 20.5 points-per-game is good for seventh best in the SAC.
A junior from Hopkins, S.C., Felder is a communications major. He is the son of Veronica and Alex Brailsford, Mrs. Corey Felder and Larry Felder Sr.
