Hartsville, SC- After one day of play at the Coker College Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, host Coker College is in the lead. The Cobras are six strokes ahead of the second place team, University of South Carolina “B”, with a combined score of 289. South Carolina shot a 295, followed by Wingate University with a 309 and then there is a three-way tie for fourth place with a score of 312 by Limestone College, Reinhart College and Mars Hill College. Rounding out the rest of the field are Fayetteville St. with a 314, Shorter College with a score of 318 and finally South Carolina St. with a first round score of 320.

Coker also had the individual leader; senior Gary Morgan shot the low on the day with a five under, 67. Morgan is followed by South Carolina’s Baker Elmore, who is just two strokes back after firing a three under, 69 for the day.

Rounding out the field for Coker are Vincent Dumouchel, with a two under, 70, in third place, while Andrew Efird shot a 73. Johary Raveloarison and Keith Wallace each shot 75; Benoit Gordon had a 77, while Blaine Rogers, Charles Francis and Stephen Thomson each shot 80 for the Cobras.

The final round of the Coker Intercollegiate is tomorrow, October 25, with teams teeing off at 8:20 a.m. at the Hartsville Country Club.
