Vass, N.C – The Coker College Golf Team is just five strokes off the lead after day one of the St. Andrews Spring Invitational at Woodlake Resort & Golf Club. The Cobras shot a team total of 313 (+25) placing them in fourth place behind Fayetteville State 308 (+20, St. Andrews 310 (+22) and the University of Montreal 312 (+24).
Leading the Coker golfers is Jay Goldenberg (Toronto, Ontario), who is in fifth place after shooting a first round 76 (+4), followed by Trey Bridwell (Greer, SC) in ninth place with a first round 78 (+6). Jimmy Gillam (Tyrone, PA) is tied for 14th after shooting 79 (+7), with Chris Marsh (Georgetown, SC) and Stephen Thomson (Bracebridge, Ontario ) are both tied for 21st with scores of 80 (+8).
The Cobras will complete the St. Andrews Spring Invitational Tuesday, with their final round of play.
