KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker men’s golf team is six strokes off the lead after day one of the Kiawah Island Invitational hosted by USC-Aiken. Leading the pack is nationally ranked #6 Georgia College and State University at four over par (292), followed by Barton College and USC-Beaufort at five over (293). Flagler College is in fourth place at seven over (295) and then Coker is tied for fifth at +10 (298) with the University of Indianapolis.

Individually the Cobras are led by sophomore Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) with an even par 72, while junior Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) fired a one over 73. Freshman Matt Kreider (Westlake, Ohio) shot a four over 76, with Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) and John LaDow (Pottstown, Pa.) rounding out the Cobra golfers with scores of five over 77 and six over 78 respectively.

The Cobras return to the links on Tuesday for the final round of the Seventh Annual Kiawah Island Invitational at the 6,875-yard, par 72 Cougar Point Golf Course.
