MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.  – The Coker men’s golf team holds a narrow one shot lead over Lincoln Memorial University after the first round of play at the 2010 Lenoir-Rhyne Myrtle Beach Invitational. The Cobras lead the field of 13 teams with a score of 295 (+7), while Lincoln Memorial is in second at 296 (+8) and UNC-Pembroke is in third at 303 (+15).

The Cobras are lead by a trio of golfers in the top 10. Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) tops the Coker golfers after an even par 72 placed him in third, followed by Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) in fifth place with a one over 73 and Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) in seventh place with a two over 74. Matt Kreider (Westlake, Ohio) fired a four over 76 to place him in 17th and Diego Polo (Guatemala City, Guatemala) is in 26th after a first round five over 77.

The Cobras will look to stay in first place as they continue play in the second round of the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
