Cobras Tied for Fourth after Opening Rounds of Laker Collegiate Classic
The Coker men's golf team is tied for fourth place with Armstrong Atlantic after the opening two rounds of the Laker Collegiate Classic.
MORROW, Ga.- Junior Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) shot an even par 144 in the opening two rounds of the State Farm Lake Collegiate Classic on Monday, leading the Cobras to a tie for fourth place with Armstrong Atlantic (+25). UNC Pembroke holds a 21 stroke lead over the Cobras in first place at +4, followed by Georgia Southwestern at +15 in second and West Georgia in third at +16.
Freshman Christopher Fuga (Phoenixville, Pa.) also had an outstanding opening two rounds as he finished in a tie for seventh at two-over par (146). Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) carded a 154 (+10), while Luke Coates (Florence, S.C.) finished with a 162 (+18) and Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) shot a 164 (+20).
The Cobras will complete the third and final round of the Laker Collegiate Classic on Tuesday on the par 72, 7202 yard course.
