Fuga and Kennedy Named to All-Conference Team

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's golfers Christopher Fuga and Nicklaus Kennedy were named to the Conference Carolinas all-conference third team.

Fuga played in every tournament and led the Cobras in the regular season with a 75.1 average. His best performance of the year was a fifth-place finish at the Jay Jennison Memorial. He also finished tied for sixth at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate and tied for seventh at the Mount Olive Invitational. Fuga's lowest round was a 68, which was at the Kiawah Island Invitational.

Fuga is a sophomore physical education and sport studies major with a concentration in sports management. Originally from Phoenixville, Pa., Fuga is the son of Stephen and Donna Fuga.

Kennedy also played in each tournament this season and ended with an average of 75.5 His top finish came at the Columbus State Cougar Invitational, where he finished tied for third place. That tournament also resulted in his best round of the year, a 69. Kennedy also finished tied for 12th at the Bearcat Invitational.

A freshman from London, Ontario, Kennedy is a physical education and sport studies major at Coker. He is the son of Bill Kennedy and Patricia Kennedy.

The Conference Carolinas all-conference teams were determined by vote from each head coach of participating league institutions. Awards were presented at the league banquet.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletic conference made up of 12 teams from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Coker College, Converse College, Erskine College, King College, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, Mount Olive College, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University and Queens University of Charlotte.
