Cobras Open Up Conference Play against Bulldogs

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's lacrosse team will play host to the Wingate Bulldogs on Wednesday (Feb. 26) in its inaugural South Atlantic Conference game.

The Cobras are looking to improve to 2-1 on the season after suffering a 18-10 loss in their previous contest against the Florida Tech Panthers. Coker was led offensively by junior John Bretton who netted a career-high four goals in the loss. Ryan Maurer was also an offensive catalyst with a team-high five points on two goals and three assists.

Wingate University comes into the contest sporting a 2-0 record after squeaking out a narrow 15-14 victory over Mount Olive College in their most recent game. The Bulldogs are led offensively by Austin Murphy and his team-leading 12 points on seven goals and five assists so far this season.
