HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra men's soccer team will take on Shorter University in the nightcap of Coker's 2012 Homecoming double-header on Saturday (Oct. 6). Live broadcast and video coverage of the game is available at www.cokercobras.com.
Coker is fresh off a dominating 4-2 win over Conference Carolinas rival Barton on Thursday. Niko Tirkkonen was the driving force behind the victory with a pair of goals and two assists.
After the win over Barton, the Cobras are 6-3 overall and 3-1 in league play.
The Shorter University Hawks come into Saturday's match with a record of 2-8-1. They have lost their last four in a row, with their most recent loss coming at the hands of Young Harris, 5-1. This will be the first ever meeting between Coker and Shorter on the soccer field.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 4 p.m. at the Coker Soccer Field. During halftime of the match, Coker will crown its 2012 Homecoming king and queen.
