Division I Winthrop Edges Coker 4-0

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Coker men's tennis team dropped a tough match to Division I Winthrop University on Tuesday 4-0.

Leonardo Lima (Brazil) and Manel Estruga (Spain) had a hard fought battle at No. 1 doubles, but they were edged out in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-5).

Lima also played tough at No. 1 singles, losing 6-3, 6-2. James Corfield (New Zealand) won a couple of games at No. 4, but he eventually lost the match 6-4, 6-0.

The Cobras have a busy week ahead. They will play three matches over the weekend starting with Wingate University on Friday on the road, followed by Liberty University at home on Saturday at 10 a.m. and finally they will host Lander University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
