BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team lost 3-0 on Saturday (Feb. 2) in a Conference Carolinas match against Lees-McRae.
The Bobcats jumped out to a quick lead by capturing the first set 25-18. The Cobras were not able to recover after that point, as Lees-McRae took sets two and three with scores of 25-21 and 25-20.
Jared Geizer and Christopher Gbelay led the team with seven kills each, while Ricardo Ferrer had a team high 18-assists. Ferrer also contributed five kills and four digs. Chris Thomas joined Ferrer with four digs, and Luke Hansen was third on the team with four blocks on the day.
Coker will return home to Timberlake-Lawton gymnasium after a four game road stand to face Pfeiffer in a Conference Carolinas match. The game will mark the first inaugural home game at Coker for the men's volleyball team, and is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
