Saints Edge Out Cobras, 3-2

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to Limestone College on Tuesday (Mar. 26) in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium. 

The Saints took control of the first set 25-17, but the Cobras came from behind to take sets two and three with scores of 25-23 and 26-24.  Limestone would end up winning a nail bitter in the fourth set 25-23 to tie the match at 2-2, and then went on to win the fifth and final set by a score of 15-10.

Jared Geizer led the competition with 15 kills, while leading the team with two blocks.  Luke Hansen was close behind with 13, while Ricardo Ferrer and James Joseph had nine kills each.  Ricardo Ferrer lead the team with 44 assists along with two service aces.  Ferrer leads that nation in service aces per set with an average of 0.59.  Cooper Lyon had a team high 10 digs, and was second on the team with five assist. 

As a team, the navy and yellow landed 61 kills, along with 56 assists, 34 digs, and four blocked shots. 

The Cobras will be back in action this Friday (Mar. 29) as they host King in a Conference Carolinas competition.  Game time is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
