HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College is pleased to announce the hiring of Brittany Owens as the Cobras assistant softball coach.

A former standout player for the Cobras, Owens completed her Coker playing days in May of 2010. A career .314 hitter, Owens had 20 doubles, six home runs and 37 RBIs during her two years with the Coker softball team. In 2009, she was ranked 13th in the country in doubles per game.

Prior to her time at Coker, Owens played two years at Florence-Darlington Technical College for the Stingers and before FDTC she was a star player for the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders.

Owens received her Bachelor of Arts degree in criminology from Coker in December of 2010 and in addition to her duties as the Cobras assistant coach, she intends on work for the Hartsville Police Department.
