Tommy Baker enters his fourth season as the leader of the Cobra men’s golf program.

During his time the Cobras have captured six total tournament victories in 22 tournaments, while also achieving the second lowest team scoring average in school history in 2008-09, with an average team score of 294.85 (+9).

Baker joined the Coker golf program in January of 2008 after spending a year and a half at UNC-Pembroke as the Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men’s and Women’s teams.

Baker is a native of Fayetteville, N.C., and a 2006 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he received a B.S. with honors in Exercise in Sports Science. He was a four-time letterman for the Braves and was a four-time Peach Belt Conference Honor Roll selection.

In addition to his duties as the Head Golf Coach, Baker also serves Coker College’s Intramural and Wellness coordinator working with Coker’s Campus Life Staff.

Baker will also become the first ever Head Coach for Women’s Golf at Coker, when the program begins in the fall of 2010.

Coach Baker earned his Masters of Arts in Sports Administration from UNC Pembroke.
