Campos Signs on to Play Tennis, Soccer at Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Jessi Campos has signed a national letter of intent to play women's tennis and will also play women's soccer for the Cobras.

Campos was a five-sport athlete in soccer, tennis, track, cross country and basketball at St. James High School in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She was named the Most Outstanding Female Shark Athlete her senior season, capping several accolades won on the court and the pitch during her high school career.

Campos' tennis accomplishments include four all-region selections, three team MVP awards and two "Toast of the Coast" selections.

"We are looking forward to having Jessi as a part of our tennis program," said head tennis coach Tom Simpson. "She is an outstanding athlete and competitor. I can't wait to see how her tennis game will blossom as she narrows her attention to only two sports."

In soccer, Campos, a forward, earned three all-region selections and won two team MVP awards.

"We are very happy to have Jessi join our family here at Coker," said Dan Muns, head women's soccer coach. "She is a fantastic athlete and influences the game every moment she is on the field. Jessi can play anywhere in the spine of the team, and we are excited see the impact she makes right away."

Campos becomes the fifth member of Muns' team to sign on from St. James High School in this class, joining Sarina Way, Taylor Marsh, Tiffany Marsh and Caitlyn Kirby.

Jessi is the daughter of Patti Campos.
