HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 loss to Lincoln Memorial University in its first-ever South Atlantic Conference match on Saturday (Sept. 14).
The Cobras and Railsplitters played a hard fought opening 20 minutes, with neither team gaining an advantage. Lincoln Memorial finally broke the stalemate in the 22nd minute when Michelle Hunter scored the first goal of the game off a deflection. The Railsplitters then went on to score four more unanswered goals, two in more in the first half and another two in the second.
Lizz Morris made 10 saves in the match for the Cobras.
Coker will return to the pitch on Thursday (Sept. 19) for a non-conference road match at Georgia Southwestern. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 4:00 p.m.
