Hartsville, SC – The Coker Women’s Tennis season started their season with a comfortable 8-1 win over Johnson C. Smith University to open their season. The women were business like and led 3-0 after doubles and took 5 singles out of 6 to earn a comfortable victory.

Andrea Santos and Cassidy Spencer played well to hold off Johnson C. Smith’s top doubles pair 8-6. Jill Smith and Neely Davis played a solid match at 2 doubles as they won 8-0.

Spencer won easily at number 2 singles conceding just 1 game on her way to the win. Smith and Davis also went out and claimed solid wins at number 3 and 4 singles respectively. Jen Konopa rounded out the performance for Coker at number 5 singles as she won 6-2 6-1.

The Coker women are 1-0 for the season and next play Converse at home on Sunday, February 12^th and 1.30pm.
