Fayetteville, NC- The Lady Cobras took on Methodist College Sunday, away in North Carolina.  The Cobras took an early lead with two good wins in doubles. The first win came at number one with Santos and Smith dominating the win. They took and early lead and raced to an 8-3 victory. Coker added a second doubles win but it was not as easy. Persistent hard work from Davis and Spencer at number two doubles earned an excellent victory 9-7. The last doubles match went to Methodist with a comfortable 8-1 victory.

The singles however were mostly dominated by Methodist who bought out a very strong singles line up. Jill Smith played three for the Cobras and played solid tennis throughout the match. Smith moved her opponent around the court and took the first set 6-4. The long rallies continued the match went to a second set tie break. Smith played well in the breaker but came up a little short and lost the tie break 7-3. The match continued to a third set where the high quality tennis continued. Smith again tried to move her opponent around the court but her Methodist opponent stepped up her game and won the deciding set 6-2. The remaining singles matches were mostly one side with Methodist dominating and they took all six singles matches.

The Cobras next match is Monday night against Shaw University at 7pm. The Cobras now move to 3-7 for the year.
