Hartsville, SC- The Lady Cobras played North Greenville Tuesday, in a non-conference match. North Greenville took an early lead as they took two of the three doubles. Ashley Pace and Andrea Santos took one of the doubles matches to only be down 2-1 going into singles.


The Lady Cobras took an early singles win courtesy of Rachel Lemar. Lemar played solid tennis from the baseline using her forehand to setup and put away volleys at the net. Lemar won comfortably 6-2, 6-2. North Greenville again took the lead by winning at No. 1 singles and No. 4 singles. Cassidy Spencer and Pace leveled the match as they fought hard to earn singles wins for the Cobras. Pace played great tennis as she won a tough match 6-4 in the third.


The match went into a deciding match which was No. 6 singles between Lindsay Crighton for Coker and Sawyer for North Greenville. Sawyer took the first set, but Crighton battled hard to win the second after being down 4-0, she won 7-6. Sawyer played well and just edged out Crighton in the third set 6-3.


This moves the Cobras to 8-7 for the season. Their next match is Saturday, April 14, against Limestone at 1:00 p.m.
