Hartsville, SC- The Lady Cobra tennis team found the right mixture on Tuesday afternoon, as they rolled to their first victory of the season over conference opponent Converse College.

In doubles the Lady Cobras came out on all cylinders and picked up all three doubles points. Lindsay Crighton (Florence, SC) and Cassidy Spencer (Wilkesboro, NC) rolled at the number three spot winning 8-0, and the team of Ashley Pace (Clinton) and Kendall Sigmon (Hilton Head, SC) won 8-1. Jill Smith (Concord, NC) and Rachel Lamar (London, England) finished off the sweep of the doubles with a commanding 8-1 win at number one.

The Lady Cobras continued to impress as they took five out of a possible six singles matches. Cassidy Spencer came off the court first as she had no trouble at the number three position winning 6-2, 6-0. Also fairing well in singles were Ashley Pace winning at number 5 by score of 6-2, 6-0, while Kendall Sigmon won at number six by a 6-3, 6-1 score. Rachel Lemar picked up a victory at number one along with Jill Smith who outlasted her opponent to win in a third set match tiebreaker.

The Lady Cobras will now take a week off and will return to the courts on March 29th at 11am as they play host to the Saints of Limestone College.
