Coker Blanks St. Andrews 3-0

LAURINBURG, N.C.- The Cobra volleyball team pounded St. Andrews with 42 kills, as Coker defeated the Knights in straight sets 3-0 on Wednesday night. Coker picked up the Conference Carolinas victory and improved to 5-7 in conference play and 8-13 overall with three dominating wins; 25-11, 25-14 and 25-20.

Leading the offensive onslaught was freshman Jordan Arnsmeyer (Sumter, S.C.) with 11 kills and a .476 hitting percentage, while junior April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) had nine kills. The middle hitting combo of Hanna Vadakin (Centennial, Colo.) and Taylor Willis (Zephyrhills, Fla.) combined for 14 kills with seven apiece and Katie McElveen (Hartsville, S.C.) helped on the offensive and defensive sides of the net with five kills and 13 digs.

Freshman setter Samantha Celek (Charleston, S.C.) orchestrated the attack with 28 assists and 10 digs and junior libero Brittany Bass (Bethune, S.C.) was the defensive leader with 17 digs.

The Cobras return to the floor tomorrow night for a non-conference match at Fayetteville State University starting at 7 p.m.
