PEMBROKE, N.C. – Brittany Bass had a match high 15 digs in the Cobra women's volleyball team's 3-0 loss to the UNC Pembroke Braves on Wednesday night in a non-conference volleyball match.
Bass along with Loren Hill (14) and Mindy Morris (13) each had double-digit dig numbers, while Taylor Willis led the offensive attack with 10 kills. April Griggs and Hannah Vadakin each had eight kills and Samantha Celek handed out 29 assists.
Although the Cobras lost in straight sets, they fought hard and came up just short in the opening two sets, 25-21 and 25-23. Unfortunately, they seemed to run out of steam in the third set losing 25-15.
Coker will finally return home after a nine-match road trip to play their home opener on Friday night against Conference Carolinas foe Queens University of Charlotte. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
