Coker Men Voted Eleventh in Cross Country Poll

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's cross country team was voted No. 11 in the South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches' poll, the league office announced today.

In 2012, Coker placed seventh at the Conference Carolinas championship. The Cobras will begin their first season of competition inside the SAC this season. They are led by second-year coach Vic Finora.

Coker returns two of its top runners from last season in junior Dylan Bates and sophomore Tom Sizeland. Finora added five newcomers for this season, including junior transfer Nick Mascardo; freshmen Fabian Hardy, Patrick Tyler and Tre' Williams; and senior Britian Tomlinson.

Coker's 2013-14 campaign begins Sept. 6 at the Catawba College Invitational.

 Mars Hill took the top spot in the coaches' poll with 121 overall points and 11 first-place votes. Wingate was second with 111 points and one first-place vote. The entire preseason poll is as follows:
