Cobras Host Golden Bulls in Non-Conference Doubleheader

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will play host to the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday (Mar. 11) at Saleeby-Stokes softball field.

The Cobras are coming off a two game split against the Bulldogs of Barton. The Navy and Yellow come into the contest with a 9-8 record and are led offensively by infielders Ashlee Ellen and Tayler Barcomb who both have a team high 18 hits each, to go along with .327 and .321 batting averages. Ellen is also the team leader in rbi's and homeruns with 18 and four. Pitcher Lauren Phillips will look to improve her 3.72 ERA against the Golden Bulls who come into the game with a 3-5 record.

Johnson C. Smith is led offensively by Jocelyn Hernandez and Monique Jefferson who come into the game with .625 and .346 batting averages respectively.

Game one of the doubleheader is set to begin at 2 p.m. with game two beginning at 4 p.m. Tickets for the game will be available at the game, $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for all Coker faculty, staff and students.
