Hartsville, S.C. – The Lady Cobra volleyball team dropped their eighth straight Conference Carolinas match on Tuesday night, falling in straight sets to the Barton College Bulldogs 3-0. The Lady Bulldogs won with scores of 25-18, 25-12 and 25-15. The loss drops Coker to 1-16 overall and 0-8 in the conference, while Barton improves to 7-10 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

Coker jumped out to early leads in both the first and third sets, but each time the Lady Bulldogs battled their way back, taking advantage of Lady Cobra’s errors and timely kills.

Leading the Coker offense was Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) with eight kills, while Molly Bookhart (Orangeburg, S.C.) and Paige Murray (Kitty Hawk, N.C.) led the defense with nine digs apiece. Abby Frame (Sylvania, Ohio) had 13 assists and Bookhart had 10 assists.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Meagan Parrott (Oxford, N.C.) led the attack with 11 kills, while Mel Ritter (Wescosville, Pa.) had seven kills and 19 digs. Carly Cash (Oxford, N.C.) had 16 assists and 11 digs, with Macon Harmon (Durham, N.C.) adding 11 assists.

Coker returns to action an Friday, October 2, when they host Fayetteville State in their 2009 Homecoming match at 6:00 p.m.
