2013-14 Coker Fall Sports Schedules Now Available
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The 2013-14 Coker Cobra fall sports schedules have been released. The Cobra women’s soccer, men’s soccer, women’s volleyball and cross country teams will all kick-off the 2013-14 season with competition beginning the first week of September.
Women’s soccer will be first to take the field when it hosts the Braves of UNC Pembroke in the first home match of the season at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5. The Cobras will then hit the road to take on Lander University on Saturday, Sept. 7.
On Friday, Sept. 6 the cross country teams will hit the road for the Catawba Invitational in Salisbury, N.C., while the women’s volleyball team will begin its season with four matches at the Emmanuel College Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The first home match for the women’s volleyball team will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 against Anderson University.
The men’s soccer team will hit the road for its first two matches of the season at the Clayton State Tournament in Morrow, Ga. The Cobras will take on last season’s nationally ranked No. 22 University Tampa on Saturday and host Clayton State University on Monday (Sept. 9). The Coker men will not play their first home match until Saturday, Sept. 14. The Cobras will play host to Lincoln Memorial University in a conference double-header, with the women playing at 4:30 p.m. followed by the men’s match at 7 p.m.
Highlights of the fall sports schedules include a jam-packed Homecoming Weekend Oct. 4 – Oct. 5, as well as Coker’s first year of competition in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
During Homecoming the Coker women’s volleyball team will play host to Brevard College on Friday (Oct. 4) and Lenoir-Rhyne College on Saturday (Oct. 5), while men’s and women’s soccer will host Catawba College in their Homecoming matches on Saturday.
Throughout the year the Cobras will face 11 SAC opponents, including former Conference Carolinas members Anderson University and Queens University of Charlotte.
