Conference Carolinas Honors Coker College Student-Athletes
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College had 129 student-athletes named to the 2012 Conference Carolinas Fall Presidential Honor Roll, the league office announced today. It was an increase for the Cobras from the spring honor roll, where they had 86 student-athletes make the cut.
“To increase the number of our honor roll students by 42 is tremendous,” said vice president of athletics and facilities Lynn Griffin. “Our coaches have recruited fantastic student-athletes who take their studies seriously. It is great to see them receive such well-deserved praise.”
A total of 1,724 student-athletes were recognized on the fall honor roll. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. Conference Carolinas presents its honor roll twice a year, covering the fall and spring academic semesters.
The recognition by the conference capped off a fall semester which saw 10 Coker teams post team GPAs of at least 3.0. They were as follows: men’s basketball (3.0), baseball (3.1), men’s golf (3.1), men’s tennis (3.6), men’s cross country (3.3), women’s basketball (3.2), women’s golf (3.3), women’s soccer (3.1), women’s volleyball (3.2) and women’s cross country (3.2).
