Six-Run Third Powers Erskine to 6-3 Win Over Limestone
The Flying Fleet of Erskine put six runs on the board during the 3rd inning and that was all the offense they would need, earning a 6-3 win over the Saints.
Erskine center fielder Morgan Purcell went 1-for-3, with two runs batted in. Seven different Fleet hitters picked up a hit. Kelsey Spurrier allowed three runs over seven innings, while striking out five hitters. The three runs were scattered through seven hits.
Limestone designated player Dallas Heaton went 1-for-3, and drove two runs in. First baseman Kirtyn Burelson went 2-for-4, with a run scored. Shelby Webb was charged with the loss. Webb went 2.1 innings and allowed five runs (four earned).
Erskine is now 1-0, during the tournament, while Limestone falls to 0-1. Erskine will play at 4 p.m. against the winner of Belmont Abbey versus North Greenville. Limestone will play the loser of Mt. Olive versus Coker at 4 p.m.
