Queens Defeats Belmont Abbey 5-1, Stays Alive in Tournament

Queens University of Charlotte put up three runs in the third inning, which led to a 5-1 win over Belmont Abbey in an elimination game.

Keeya Turner went 2-for-4, with one run driven in and a run scored.  Right fielder Megan Lathury also picked up two hits and an RBI.  Chantel Dodge pitched all seven innings and allowed only one run.  Dodge also struck out five hitters in the win.

Shannon Arthur went 1-for-3, with a solo home run for the Crusaders.  Emily Self started in the circle for Belmont Abbey.  She went 3.1 innings and allowed three runs on seven hits.  Self was charged with the loss.

Belmont Abbey is eliminated from tournament play, while Queens will play Erskine at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 21.
