Hartsville, SC- While facing the regionally and nationally ranked Mount Olive Trojans, the Coker Cobras held a five point half-time lead, but in Trojans out scored the Cobras, 47-26 in the second half to take a 81-65 victory. The loss brings Coker’s record to 8-15 overall, and 6-9 in Conference Carolinas play, while Mount Olive improves to 19-4 overall, and 14-2 in the conference.

The Cobras were able to jump on the board early and were able to hold the lead for nearly 25 minutes of the game, but in 15th minute of the game, the Trojans finally tied the game and took their first lead. The Trojans Kendrick Easley was the most crucial part of the Mount Olive game plan, hitting the key baskets all night long. Another key to the Trojans success was their ability to shut down Coker big man, Mason Ambler (Atlanta, GA). Ambler, who scored 25 against Mount Olive earlier this season, was held to just six points and eight rebounds on Thursday night.

Leading Coker was Josh Poston (Myrtle Beach, SC) with 19 points and five rebounds, while Lukas Varga (Pawley’s Island, SC) had 10 points.

Easley lead all scorers with 24 points, three rebounds and three steals, while Craig Hayes was dominating in the paint with 17 points and eight rebounds for the Trojans.

Both teams return to the court on Saturday, at 4:00 p.m. Coker will travel to Pfeiffer, while Mount Olive travels to Erskine.
