HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team will host their final two home games of the year this Friday (Mar. 29) and Saturday (Mar. 30), against King University and Barton College. Live video coverage of the games will be available at www.cokercobras.com.
Coker is coming off a tough 3-2 loss to Limestone last Tuesday (Mar. 26), in their most recent competition.
The Cobras however, are currently the best serving team in the nation with an average of 1.70 aces per set. Junior Ricardo Ferrer is the leading contributor to that statistic. Ferrer leads the nation with an average of .69 aces per set.
Cooper Lyon will be in charge of the defensive responsibilities as the libero. Lyon currently leads the team with 126 digs on the year.
King is entering Friday's competition with an overall record of 9-17 and 4-10 in the conference. The Tornado dropped their most recent match 3-2 to Barton. Leading the way for King is Michael Koebel with 194 total kills.
Barton is coming off a 3-2 victory over King, and is 3-18 on the year with a league record of 2-12. Zach McCalla leads the way for the Bulldogs with 232 kills on the season.
Friday's match against King will begin at 4:00 p.m. in Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium, while Saturday's match against King will start at 1:00 p.m.
