King Sneaks Passed Coker, 3-2
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team lost a tight 3-2 match against King University on Friday (Mar. 29), in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.
The Cobras quickly fell down two sets after losing set one and set two by scores of 25-18 and 25-22. Coker however, was able to rally back and take control of sets three and four, 25-23 and 25-20 to force a fifth and final set. Unfortunately for the navy and yellow they could not put together a complete set, and King took the set and match with a score of 15-10.
Jared Geizer had an outstanding performance, posting a match high 18-kills. Luke Hansen collected 10 kills of his own, followed by Chris Thomas with nine. Ricardo Ferrer had the match high in assists (34) and aces (3), while also earning the team high 12 digs.
As a team the Cobras landed 49 kills, compared to the Tornado 45. Coker also collected seven blocks and 38 digs.
Coker will host their final home game of the season on Saturday (Mar. 30) against Barton College. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time.
