Cobras in Third After Opening Round of Mount Olive Invite

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Coker women's golf team opened play at the Mount Olive Spring Invitational by finishing the first round in third place. Led by freshman Caroline Dula, who is tied for sixth overall, the Cobras trail Queens University of Charlotte and Mount Olive College.

Dula carded an opening round 82 to lead the Cobras, while Sara Allen is tied for 12th after carding an 87. Krista Thorpe is tried for 15th after shooting an 88 and Mallory Thompkins and Jessi McKenzie are both tied for 18th after carding opening round scores of 90.

The Cobras will tee it up for the final round of play on Tuesday at the par-72 Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, N.C.
