Hartsville, SC- The Coker College Women’s Soccer Team were shut out for the third straight time, as the USC-Aiken Pacers defeated the Cobras 1-0 at the Coker College Soccer Field on Tuesday night. The loss drops Coker to 4-11-1 on the year, while the Pacers improve to 5-11-1.

USC-Aiken controlled possession most of the match, but only managed to score in the second half. Annie Whitley (Neptune Beach, FL) managed the lone goal of the game in the 50th minute, when she was able to find the back of the net off a deflection for a direct kick.

Nicole Westphal (Springfield, VA) earned the win and the shut-out in the net for the Pacers with two saves, while Coker’s Margaret McCoy (Columbia, SC) had a season high 10 saves in the match.

The Cobras return to the pitch on Saturday, as they host Pfeiffer University for their final home match of the season at 2:00 p.m. Coker will have a special halftime ceremony to honor their three seniors; Stephanie Foster, Shelly Heinzelman and Brook Basham.
